Take A Load Off....Spring Clean Your Office!!!!!!!

Here's some good tips about spring cleaning for your office. Its also a helpful way to stay organized. Even though it was written by a Realtor, the same applies to home stagers.

I've turned off commenting, so please click through to the original post to leave your comments there for Paige.

You may have read my other blogs on Spring Cleaning (I can now park in my garage)!

I guess I just have the bug, because now I'm working on my office. If you are really busy and your desk looked like mine with stacks of folders and little sticky notes everywhere, it may be time to CLEAN IT UP!

I am very fortunate that I currently have 13 properties under contract! However, with that comes alot of paperwork. I am trying to do my part and be more green by keeping alot of my docs electronically, however, somethings we have to keep in paper form; and they pile up!

Here are some ideas to help you get your desk and office organized:

   1.  Clean out your filing cabinet of last years files. Mentally this will help you because it is giving you room to replace the cabinet with new under-contracts and SOLDS!

   2.  Get a standing file rack for your Under-Contracts! That way you have it where it's easy access. When something comes in via fax or however, you can just drop it in the file, instead of placing it in a stack on your desk (you know what I'm talking about).

   3.  Keep a spiral notebook on your desk and another one in your car. That way when you need to write down something such as a new buyer and phone number, you will have it when you need to call them back. I used to have sticky notes EVERYWHERE with names and numbers. Then I would come across it 3 months later and say, wait a minute, did I call them back? or who is this?

I also try to immediately save there name and number in my phone. However, as I just learned a couple of weeks ago with my I-Phone. If you don't SYNC you will lose all of those valuable numbers. (My phone crashed and I lost a bunch of contacts.....this bites!)

   4.  Keep a folder with Inspirational pages. Whether it's marketing ideas you would like to implement, or articles you've printed or torn out of a magazine. That way when you have some spare time or need a break, pull out the file and read over some of the info! It could help to give you a SPARK to get going! It also will get all of those magazines off your desk!

It is amazing to me how just getting everything organized and cleaned up and out, can make you feel like a new person! It makes me say to myself  'okay, now I feel like I can handle some more because I have all of this under-control! '

Good luck to you on your Spring Cleaning....office style. Please feel free to post additional suggestions.
