Staging An Occupied Pasadena Home With Art & Accessories
Here's some photos from our latest Pasadena home staging project. Moving Mountains Design was hired by the homeowner/listing agent to "add the icing" to this beautiful home. As this was an occupied home staging, we used the homeowner's existing furniture and some accessories, and brought in art work, silk plants and additional accessories from our extensive inventory. We were very fortunate that the homeowner had some lovely pieces for us to stage with.

Beautiful home! You made it look so inviting! Great job, as always! Love seeing your work Michelle!
Flew over from twitter my friend to see this lovely transformation - you make homes look like they belong in pages of magazines!
Thanks Theresa. It was not your usual run of the mill staging job.
Karen: Glad you were able to catch a flight. Boy, it posted to Twitter fast! Its not so often that we get to work with such beautiful materials so I feel very fortunate. The homeowners put a ton of money into transforming this house when they purchased it, and it shows.
This house is a-MA-zing! I love the black wall with the mirror framed artwork, and that BEDROOM is to die for! I know, with your icing on this cake, it WILL sell quickly ~ keep us informed!
Stunning home, gorgeous paint and furnishings. I think when we are there for Easter my son will want to see this home as he has the home bug right now. They used to live in Pasadena-Sierra Madre.
Connie: The wall in the entry is actually Bittersweet Chocolate from Benjamin Moore. It is a dark, dark brown and truly delicious. Thanks for the vote of confidence. It is going on the market next week so I'll post an update then.
Cathy: They are having open house for Brokers Caravan next Thursday, and one open house the following Sunday. My understanding is after that, the home is shown by appt. only. I'll give you the listing agent's info if you think your son will be interested. The homeowner spared no expense in the upgrades. I hope you'll call me when you are coming down here. I'll treat you to breakfast or lunch!
Michelle, once again, you have done an outstanding job! The homeowners had beautiful furnishings for you to work with, too. I'm sure it will sell quickly!
GORGEOUS home and amazing work by you (of course!). Love the paint colors. I'm sure this one will go quickly if it's priced well.
Nancy: Yes, the home owners had a lot of very nice furniture to work with. We really enjoyed it.
Annie: I think they are pricing the home agressively. BTW, he called and said he loved everything (well almost) after seeing how good it looked in the photos:o))
Michelle - let us congratulate you on the beautiful staging and presentation! We will try to go see it on broker caravan.
In a word - Beautiful.
As for your photos - they are some of the best I've seen.
Kathy
Fran & Rowena: Thank you. Its on Grand, 91105. As soon as I get clearance from the LA, I post the address.
Kathy: Thank you Kathy. Coming from the Queen of Staging Photos, that's a real compliment. And thank you for your friendship and support:o))
Michelle it looks awesome! Great art!! Hope it sells quick, and I love the photos :)
Thank you, Wendy. It is a very unique house. I hope it sells quickly too. The wall color flies in the face of much of what we hear repeated over and over again about "how to stage" (no dark or bright colors), but it works so well with the style of the house and the furnishings, that I think it enhances the appeal of this house and will make the house memorable to prospective buyers.
Magazine worthy, Michelle...just Fabulous!
Just as I knew it would be - beautiful! You always do such fabulous work! Your clients are really very fortunate.
Thank you Jacqueline.
Melissa: Coming from you, that's a real compliment. Thanks!
Took the flight over from twitter too. And again, my friend.. B E A U T I F U L. What else can I say Miss Home Staging Pro? Hugs...
This is absolutely gorgeous Michelle...looks like a page out of a magazine!
Thanks LKP. I'm glad you approve.
Cynthia: Thank you!
Michelle ~ This is just lovely! I especially like the way you did the bedroom.
Michelle,
The house looks beautiful! So, did you choose the paint colors or were they already in the home? Whatever the case, they look great! Do you use a professional photographer? These photos are fabulous.
Aloha Michelle,
Here is a great example where interior design trumps staging. Love the silver Louis XIV chaise with the black & white upholstery. I'm imagining that the black pattern is slightly raised velvet on white muslin. The black piping on the valances matching the lamp shades and the intimated look of the bed frame creates a wonderfully tailored and elegant look to the bedroom. le colour chocolat c'est manifiques, tres bien!
Peace,
Oops I almost forgot the whippet by the fireplace, wonderful touch!
Kathy: Thank you.
Holly: The paint colors were already in place and I didn't have a problem with them. They're perfect for the style of house and the market. I take all my own photos. Thank you.
Aloha Kimo:Merci! As I said earlier we had a lot of great material to work with. Actually too much great material. We removed many pieces, accessories and personal items and rearranged what was left. The homeowners hired me to help them remove the excess, rearrange what was left, then accessorize using both their things and my inventory and add art workwhich was conspicuously absent.
The whippet works well with this Hollywood Regency style. Regarding the fabric, it is actually a brocade, no velvet was harmed in the making of those pillows:o))
Beautiful home and taleneted staging, simple but stunning! Thanks for sharing the photos. Bellisimo!
Stage Call Home Staging & Redesign, Merritt Island, FL
Michelle, You did a beautiful job on this home! I always love to see your work, it never ceases to amaze me with the way you transform.
Michelle, I am an agent but am just beginning a second business in staging with my daughter. I am going to hold on to these photos to remind myself as to what I want to aspire to in my staging career. Unbelievably well done!
Cheryl: Graci! I'm glad you like it.
Hi Carole: Thank you for your kind comment.
Carol: I'm glad I inspired you. Good luck with your new staging business.
Love the photos, love the style and love the way the post is presented. All "text-book" excellent!
Is the brown in the bedroom the same brown as in the foyer? And, a follow-up, if I may, (no I've not been watching Presidential press conferences, just nuts I guess! <grin>) Does the dark border in the marble floor match the Bittersweet walls in that foyer?
[I'm asking because we've been recruited to go live in a modern house and I'm trying to find ways to bridge the gap between it and the traditional homes in its neighborhood. Live Staging ++ I guess.]
Juliet: The brown in the bedroom is a little lighter and a little redder -Barrista AF-175 from Benj. Moore. The marble floor in the foyer is a black border with a white field with grey veining. Very sophisitcated. The black/white/brown combination also appears in the bedroom and the family room. It works in this house because the house has high ceilings and lots of tall windows. The rich colors won't work as well in a house with the standard 8' ceiling and average windows. Way too dark.
BTW, I would call this sytle Hollywood Regency FYI.
Glad you like it!
Michelle, How gorgeous! What a beautiful home and photos!
Thank you Donna. It was a nice project once we got all the kinks worked out.
Simply amazing Michelle, I wish to be like you when my company grows up :)
Tanya: Thank you. Be careful what you wish for! ;o))
Simply Stunning Michelle! It's so much FUN to have great materials to work with, but if you don't know what to do with them, they mean nothing. I must say, the talent you possess is simply much more than just "icing". www.debrasdesigningdetails.com
Debra: Thank you so much. That is very kind of you. And yes, it is fun to have great materials to work with.
Lucky to have so many beautiful things to work with that were already exisiting. Makes it so much fun, beautiful job!
Lisa: We were indeed fortunate. But having the home staged was a wise move on the part of the homeowner. They did many of the preparations after receiving my recommendations during the initial consultation. Then we came back in and whipped everything into shape and tied it all together with artwork and accessories.
