When I blog, who benefits? Many people, maybe even you!

1)If you're a listing agent and I've staged one of your listings, I've probably blogged about it here on AR and on my home staging website. I've displayed photos of the listing and I've included your contact information, including a link to your website, if you have one. That's lots of additional exposure for your listing, you and your website. Here are some examples of posts I've done about the properties I've staged recently:
- Congratulations Tommy Thai! Staged, Sold & Closed in Just 29 Days!
- Vacant Home Staging an Arcadia Townhome
- Pasadena Craftsman Home Staging
2)If you are a professional home stager, or want to become a home stager, you may have benefited from my blog posts as well (at least, I hope you have:o)). Here's some examples of home staging posts that I hope were beneficial to home stagers:
- Seeing Red In Home Staging Photos
- Real Estate Staging Association International Conference - Get The 411
- Buyer Beware - Business Opportunity May Not Be What It Seems
- Your Home Staging Business - How Do I Grow My Business?
If you are a home owner thinking about selling your Los Angeles or Pasadena home, or your home is already on the market with no offers, you can benefit from my blogging as well. Here are some blog posts that may be of interest to you:
- Home Staging Consultation - Updating a Silverlake Kitchen Inexpensively
- Curb Appeal Tip: Improving the Appearance of a Concrete Block Wall
- Los Angeles Home Stager Tips For a Smooth Move
- Money Saving Home Staging Tip - Get A Home Staging Consultation, Then Do It Yourself
- Choosing A Home Stager
Local Businesses have benefited from my blogging:
- Los Angeles Home Staging Company Forms Strategic Alliance With Northstar Moving
- My Favorite Tile Resource in Los Angeles
- Designer Furniture and Accessory Sale
- Burkard Nursery Summer Sale
Heck, even professional home inspectors benefited when I wrote this post about the importance of having a home inspection before you purchase a home:
Of course, I benefit and my Los Angeles home staging company benefits when I blog. My business would not be nearly as successful if I didn't post to Active Rain, my blogs and website. Blogging about home staging has allowed me to establish myself as an expert in the field of home staging and the business of home staging. Blogging has put me on the first page of Google, often in multiple positions in all my desired search terms. And because of that, I am found by more home owners and real estate agents, thereby getting more business.Besides that, I have learned so much by reading blogs written by others, both here on Active Rain and elsewhere on the internet.
Of course, its not only about business. I've made some incredible and priceless personal connections because I'm blogging, both here on Active Rain and on my website. The list is very long and I am very grateful for your friendships.
I first discovered blogging when I was introduced to Active Rain. When I talk to new home stagers, experienced home stagers, new real estate agents or experienced real estate agents, one of the first thing I tell them is they must blog if they want to grow their reputation and get great market exposure for little cost.
When I blog, who benefits? Lots of people, not just me.
Who benefits when you blog?

Michelle, I have a customer I am going to send part of this to. Thanks.
Thank you for the article. It does cause you to step back and analyze the market you are blogging to which helps focus your attention more productively.
Ted: I hope I help bring you lots of business.
Michelle:
Well written. It's a nice benefit to home inspectors that you give them some due.
Guy: We can be of benefit to so many.
Claudette: I have worked with some great home inspectors, on my own properties and for clients. I love to give credit where credit is due.
Michelle it's nice to see you spread value to so many parties in buying/selling process. As a Realtor, I like that you give some free promotion to your partners that you work with. We often make referral sources available to our clients and although it doesn't always pan out it nice when it does.
I found your site very useful with great ideas. I have subscibed.
Brian: I'm all about helping to get the homes I stage sold, so I'm happy to promote the listing (within legal limits as I'm not a licensed real estate agent). And I'm happy to help promote the real estate agents who recommend me to their clients. I want them to be successful, so they will be able to refer more business to me (besides the fact that most are really nice people).
Darrell: Yeah! Thank you for subscribing!
Hi Michelle, I have to say that I have personally benefitted from many of your blogs. You always share such sound advice and practical wisdom. I have learned a lot from you! Most importantly though is the friendship we've shared and for me there is more value in that than anything!
Once again you've shown here in this blog that not only do they benefit our own personal businesses but others as well. Thank you for sharing it so clearly!
Hi Karen: We have a mutual admiration society. I learned so much (and envied your writing skills) from you when I first joined AR. I still go back over your blog posts when I need a lift or inspiration.
Michelle, great great post on so many levels. Not only have you made some great points about how your blog benefits not only you, but so many others. BUT you also included links back to all your other blog posts which is nothing short of SEO genius! Bowing down to you right now. :) Hoping you get out of jury duty and can join us for lunch next week...
I'm glad you picked up on that, Annie. This post had multiple benefits:
1) The obvious - to show how blogging benefits more than just the blogger
2) To create an index of informative blog posts
3) SEO for my AR blog
4) Drive traffic to older AR posts and to my home staging website separate from AR
Great post from a great teacher. I have learned a lot from reading your blog and/or been inspired to investigate an idea/issue further. I too have witnessed the benefits of blogging and commenting on others' blogs when viewing search results. Thanks for sharing!
Michelle,
I have learned so much reading your blogs. I get inspired by your work and the information you share. This post is great in that it demonstrates how little simple things lead to bigger and better things. Thanks!
Michele: Done right, blogging will bring you a lot of business. I feel like I have gotten a college level education, just from reading others' blogs and trying to figure out what they are doing that will help me be a better blogger.
Ana: The purpose of this post was to point out how blogging benefits many people, not just the blogger. It is also a opportunity for me to up my SEO activity. That is probably the most important lesson to take away. I've created multiple links, incoming and outgoing, which Google loves.
Yes, Michelle, you've got that right! It makes you wonder how some say they don't have time! How can one NOT have time?
It takes a lot of time and energy to market your home staging services, but if you do it right you can get a lot more out of your efforts.
You are always very willing to help everyone, and give solid great advice, spoken from a veteran with experience, and it shows...Thanks for your commitment!
Thanks, Cindy. The point I was trying to make is that we all should be blogging more (although you are a blogging machine - congrats on that) as it is so helpful on so many levels.
Great post. I can't wait to review some of the posts I have missed.
Jo

Hi Jo: Let me know what you think when you are done with your reading assignment :o)
Beth: Thank you!
Michelle you have put it in a nice and clear manner how important blogging is! I love your approach to getting a point across :) I especially love the "Seeing Red in Home Staging Photos" post, love the creativity of using accent colors !
Lina: Blogging is a valuable tool, not just to promote ourselves or our own business, but also because we can help others as well. Thank you!
Sometimes when helping others you inadvertently succeed. Great Post. I always look forward to your posts as a newbie to home staging. You reminded me to acknowledge those who play an important part in my business. Agents, vendors ect. I think it also provides some incentive to your colleagues to keep doing business with you. You are advertising them well. Thanks again!
Abby: Everyone appreciates when you help drive business to them, especially if they aren't tech savvy or don't have a web site. I'm glad you find my posts informative.
Michelle, You're right ActiveRain Bloggers do build the community, not just our individual businesses.
That's why blogging and AR are such wonderful tools.
