Pasadena Penthouse Condo Pops With Home Staging Last week we were hired by an out-of-town homeowner to stage her Playhouse District Pasadena condo. The condo had been on the market for 84 days before staging. In the best case, we would have staged this condo before it hit the market. But this homeowner was very smart to stage it when it hadn't sold for almost 3 months. While we were staging, some potential buyers came through. This was the second time they saw the condo. The first time, it was unstaged. Their comments: "This looks so much nicer than I remember", "I didn't realize I could fit a king size bed in here" and "Now I'm sure my sofa will fit".

That is a very nice job with the staging. Good luck.
Thank you, Wayne!
Michelle- Your post points out why staging is so important... buyers need to be able to see the space, and be able to determine if their furniture will fit!
Michelle, I agree that proper staging will motivate buyer to put an offer on the house. Very nice work.
Michelle,
Very nice! I always love the dark wood and the round mirror above the fireplace! Just curious if you would think of putting a patterned area rug in front of the sofa and under the coffee table to further set that area apart? Or would you consider that too much?
Beautiful job! I always love looking at your staging photos. You inspire me :)
Kathy: Its rare that we get to hear potential buyers' reaction to our work. Even rarer when someone had seen the home unstaged. I was glad to have that experience.
Thanks, Anna.
Amy: I don't often like the way area rugs look over carpet. Also, in a smaller space like this one, an area rug would break up the expanse of carpet and make the room feel smaller.
Thank you, Wanda!
Michelle - Those corner fireplaces confuse the best of us. It's always better to have furniture properly placed in a space to show potential buyers what is possible. How fun to get feedback from people who had already seen the space when it was vacant, and their positive reaction to the same space now that it is staged. Priceless!
Sally: My initial plan was to angle the sofa in front of the fireplace, but it cut the room in half. Most people would have gone with it, but only a professional home stager would know what the best solution would be. Thanks!
WOW!! It looks fabulous Michelle!! You did a great job of furniture placement and I love the prop over the sofa table-I have never ordered that piece for a prop-thanks for the inspiration!!
A long, narrow open-concept room with a slanted focal wall?? Michelle, I don't think 'most people' would have slanted the sofa. I think most people would have walked away. What a beautiful example of how professional staging makes the confusing understandable!
Cathy Lee: Thank you, but I'm confused. Are you referring to the prop TV over the sofa table?
Thank you, Nancy. And I agree "professional staging makes the confusing understandable!"
PROFESSIONAL Home Staging is all about problem solving challenge meeting, and you are one of the best, Michelle. Excellent solutions.
