Staged home in Arcadia gets an offer after first open house!
UPDATE: The REA called me this morning and told me the house is in escrow! Whoo-hoo!
Last week, Moving Mountains Design was hired to stage a 7,000 sq. ft. new construction home in Arcadia, CA. One of my assistants was in the hospital (thankfully she is on the mend and will be back at work next week), one assistant was on vacation in Brazil, and one assistant had to fly up to Sacramento to take care of her mother who had a stroke. It was the perfect storm of staging assistants (or lack thereof). I contacted 3 local stagers and asked if they wanted to help out, never expecting all three to say yes. Besides my 3 new trainee assistants, I was fortunate to have 3 terrific, talented and experienced stagers on my team:
Diane Concialdi of DC Redesign
Lynette Lawson of Starlight Staging
Terri Lucas of Exclusive Home Staging
Needless to say we had a great time. I am only sorry that I didn't have more time to spend with them. Here is the fruit of our labor.

When I spoke to the listing agent, he told me they had received an offer very close to the $2.68 million asking price after the first open house. My fingers are crossed I will be receiving a call this week that the house is in escrow.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks again to Diane, Lynette and Terri. You ladies rock!

WOW really nice. I have yet to receive an offer from any open house. Way to go.
Thank you, John. It doesn't happen that often, but it is what we all hope for.
WOW - what a great testament to Staging ~ My fingers are crossed for you! Keep us informed!
Thanks Connie. I'll let you know. I'm hoping the buyer will want to buy the rugs and furnishings - including the pool table in the game room!
WhooHoo! This is awesome Michelle. Oh how I wish I could have been there to help. I would have loved to meet your wonderful crew in person ;) We are still swamped up here, hopefully a break in June, but not looking like it. Fabulous staging pics as always my friend. YOU ROCK!!!
Michelle, I just want to say "YOU Rock." I had a great time, enjoyed the work and love to see how you operate. Good luck on the offer! Lori I wish you could have been there too.
Great pictures!
Diane
Absolutely stunning work ladies, the room with the fireplace is especially divine.
Your photo's are beautiful, you guys must have had fun with such a gorgous home
Great to hear! As an Accredited Staging Professional, you just can't go wrong with staging a home. Responding to the other comments about Open House's...my last two sales came off of Open House's so for the rest of you don't give up. The way you approach an Open House can mean the difference between success and failure.
Great staging with great results. These rooms speak volumes to the impact staging can have on a home. Your girls do ROCK!
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.

Lori Kim: We did have fun. I did any way. I guess I can't speak for the others. I am so thankful for the help as we were able to get it all done in a day. The listing agent had the broker caravan scheduled for the next day so it was crunch time.
Diane: Thank you again. You were so much help.
Thank you Jackson. The architect did a good job on this house. It was easy to see how to lay things out.
Ronelle: Thank you. It was a lot of fun.
Tarris: Thanks!
Kathy: Thank you, I'm honored. Staging does have a major impact.
Congratulations to all of you! The home looks wonderful!
What an amazing job you all did. Gorgeous! Why don't you all pile in and come to Huntsville. My home is in desperate need, lol. Truly though, you all did a fabulous job! Very impressive.
Thank you Tanya!
Elizabeth: Thank you. I'll be happy to come to Huntsville and help out.

Lynette: It was great to meet you after corresponding for so long. It was a lot of fun, wasn't it? I hope we will be able to do it again, under better circumstances for both of us, and on a job I can spend a little more time with you. Thank you again for your help.
That is quite a Mountain you and your team Moved! And waht a team! Julie
Thanks, Julia!
Michelle, "A working roundtable" What a great colaberation. You have to be pleased that you have the ability to call on other really great stagers.
What a sophisticated end result! Kudos to all.
Kathy
Gary: Unfortunately there was a lot of working and not a lot of talking going on. I think I will have to take everyone out to lunch, and then we can talk.
Kathy: Thank you!
Michelle,
WOW -to you and your colleagues. Very, very beautiful. Your pictures are fantastic. Do you take them yourself?
Patti: Thank you. I take my own photos with a Nikon D40, 18mm lens and tripod.
LOOKS GREAT!!! It's wonderful to have a strong staging team!
Cheers,
Cindy
Thanks, Cindy.
Really nice, cool, summery pictures of those rooms. Congratulations on your success! Joan
Thank you Joan. Thanks for commenting.
Oh Michelle the house looks wonderful. You and your stagers did a great job. I think the bedroom is my favorite room. Love the bedding and the chairs. Betty
WOW! This is amazing...you have done it again!
Hi Betty: Thank you. The bedding is one of those bed in a bag ensembles, granted an expensive one. We customize it with lots of throw pillows. The color came out a little wierd in the photo. The sheets are more creamy, not so yellow gold.
Thanks Jo. Glad you like it. Right back at you, Sister!
Beautiful. I know your clients are happy!
Simply Beautiful Michelle. Lori told me you do grand houses. Simply lovely. Kym
Michelle, just getting caught up on AR. The pictures came out gorgeous. Let me tell everyone... Michelle moves mountains with her professional approach and her ability to organize the staging day down to a tee. The entire Moving Mountains Team, Lynette and Dianne were wonderful to work with on this project. Let me know when it sells.
So gorgeous. Fantastic job. Beautiful pictures. Congratulations!
Thank you very much Patty.
Kym: I am fortunate to get to do some very large homes. Now that we have them figured out, I really enjoy doing them.
Terri: You are too kind. You saw me at my worst working with new assistants and not enough movers. Ah well, it got done, and well enough to get it sold right away. Thank you again for your help.
Chrissie: Thank you for your kind comment.
Michelle, Terri & Team,
These are really gorgeous. Were you able to pick paint colors, or was that already done when you got the house?
Beth: The house was already painted when they called me. I was happy to work with a color other than gold or tan. I probably would not have chosen blue if it was up to me, but I like the way it turned out. Thanks for commenting.
